An avid reader of National Geographic magazine I had always wanted to create a photo journal, and this site is an attempt to do the same about the people and landscape that I grew up with. I am not trained as a photo journalist but as an engineer, after finishing my bachelors from Government Engineering College, Thrissur and masters from BITS, Pilani. Currently I work in San Francisco as a Senior Unix/Network Engineer and I am having a blast at my work ! 

This is my first photo journal and the pictures were taken during the first two weeks of September 1998, when I took a short vacation to spend time with my parents at their home in Thrissur . It was a pleasant trip and the only regret I have was not able to see any good pookkallam, most of them being made of any thing but flowers.

The pictures were taken with a Nikon N50 SLR camera and developed/scanned by Kodak . The original pictures are of approximately 150 Kb and compressed to the present size of ~50Kb for faster downloads. The pictures had lost some of it's sharpness but I believe these pictures are still good. The pictures are not modified with any imaging software and is presented as it is.
